International company to buy Moldovan agricultural goods worth $240 million

Chisinau, 11 July /MOLDPRES/ – The group of companies Tras Oil and an international banking consortium have signed today an agreement in Paris on a loan worth $240 million to buy agricultural goods from the Moldovan producers and economic agents.

In current season, the Trans Oil Group has announced plans to buy over 500,000 tons of sunflower seeds, over 1.2 million tons of wheat (wheat, barley, rapeseed, corn, peas) and over 100,000 tons of soybean.

The Trans Oil Group had previously announced that it increased its transhipment capacity through the Giurgiulesti free international port to 1,600,000 metric tons of agricultural products per year.

"Due to collaboration with international financial institutions, Trans Oil Group, largest producer of sunflower oil in Moldova and an exporter of cereals, oilseeds and legumes, can guarantee farmers the most advantageous prices paid in due time for their goods. Our aim is not only to offer convenient export opportunities to Moldovan producers, but also to pay for their products in good time at the best prices," said chairman of Trans Oil Group, Vaja Jhashi.

The Trans Oil Group is the largest buyer and exporter of cereals and oilseeds in Moldova.
