Universities of Moldova announce admission session programme

Chisinau, 11 July /MOLDPRES/ – All universities in Moldova announced the admissions programme. In university institutions the admission of young people takes place on 02 July – 28 August.
Interviewed by agency, the head of the Department of higher education policy, Nadejda Velisco, specified that higher education institutions had individually set admission periods.
"The universities have already presented the admission programme involving: submission of documents, submission of preliminary results, submission of original documents, presentation of final results and additional session. This year, there have been provided about 5,000 budget places, and the price of contracts set by universities varies depending on expenses implied," said Velisco.
Totally, 26 universities have announced their offers for study year 2018 – 2019. Seventeen of these are public higher education institutions, and nine are private.
Among the first institutions which opened their doors for high school leavers are Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University in Chisinau. The institution began admission earlier this week, similar as University of Tiraspol based in Chisinau.
The State University of Medicine and Pharmacy Nicolae Testemitanu announced that on 16 – 26 July, young people can submit documents to the following specialties: general medicine, preventive medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and optometry. Also, it comes with a new educational offer in 2018. It is about specialty – General healthcare, with duration of four years.
The documents can be submitted at 09:00 – 17:00 at universities.
The preliminary results will be announced largely in the second half of July – beginning of August, filing the original documents – at the end of July, and the final results – in early August.
According to the plan of budget-funded staff training, there will be admitted 4,906 persons to 167 specialties, a number of budget places similar to 2017.
Following labour market requirements, it is proposed to introduce several new specialties in fields, like: engineering and its activities, arts, agricultural sciences, healthcare and sports sciences.
For master's studies, there will be financed 2,876 places from budget, while 453 persons will be admitted to residency studies. For foreign students, there will be reserved 297 places, including 255 – undergraduate and 42 – master degree.
