Chisinau, 12 July /MOLDPRES/ - Over 1,000 Defence Ministry employees who work under contract will receive monthly allowances for renting dwellings, according to a regulation due to be published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) of Moldova on 13 July.

The draft sees establishment of a monthly allowance for contract servicemen, who are not supplied with dwellings and who are included in the list of record of applicants for these dwellings.

To benefit from financial compensation, the military will have to possess contracts on rent and present proof that they have no dwelling. Under the draft, the size of the compensation will not exceed the office salary.

At present, 1,389 applicants for compensations for rent are recorded at the Defence Ministry, of whom 961 work in Chisinau and another 352 – in the Balti municipality.
