Chisinau, 12 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Internet access services providers will be obliged to provide to users applications on filtering the content with negative impact on children. The parliament adopted a draft law to this end in the first reading today.
Under the draft, the services providers will introduce in the principal menu of their official webpages a section dedicated to information on Internet security. Thus, according to the document’s authors, parental control over the content watched by children will be established.
At present, a mobile telephony company already provides to its users access to the service Safe Kids and Moldtelecom – the Safe Web service.
The draft’s authors consider that the new amendments will offer a competitive advantage to the providers of Internet access services. According to them, in the European Union states, the Internet services providers offer, at a request by the end user, software applications on filtering the Internet content with negative impact on children, which can be downloaded free of charge and set on various devices.
