Moldovan foreign affairs ministers meets U.S. ambassador

Chisinau, 12 July /MOLDPRES/ - Aspects on the development of the Moldovan-American cooperation today were discussed at a meeting between Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and U.S. Ambassador to Moldova James D. Pettit, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.  

In the context, Tudor Ulianovschi and James Pettit exchanged opinions on the developments of the bilateral relations and the Moldovan-American strategic dialogue through the light of a recent visit to the USA by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, within which more aspects of the Moldova-USA collaboration were tackled.   

Minister Tudor Ulianovschi pointed out the principal developments in MAEIE’s work, highlighting the completion of the annual meeting of the Moldovan diplomacy, as well as the cabinet’s decision on the creation of the Diplomatic Institute. Ulianovschi said this would allow professionally training both the diplomatic corps and representatives of various state institutions involved in the promotion of state policies in diverse international organizations.    

For his part, Ambassador James Pettit said he was keeping a close eye on the social and political developments in Moldova. He voiced hope that the reforms assumed by the government would be implemented successfully and in line with the provisions of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement.
