Moldovan, Norwegian premiers discuss bilateral trade

Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/- The possibilities of signing a Free Trade Agreement within the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) were examined by Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg. The meeting took place in New York on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The premiers agreed to organize missions of Norwegian businessmen in Moldova to boost bilateral trade.
Filip thanked for the technical assistance provided by Norway in reforming justice and home affairs, the fight against trafficking in human beings and employment of people with special needs. The charity work carried out in our country by the Norwegian organization "Help Moldova" was appreciated. It supports socially vulnerable families, renovates hospitals and kindergartens.
Erna Solberg said that Norway will further support Moldova's efforts to modernize the country and adjust to European standards.
EFTA includes Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Norway. Moldova and EFTA member states signed a joint declaration of cooperation in 2017, and the first Joint Committee EFTA - Moldova was held in Chisinau this year.
