Relatively cool, rainy weather expected in Moldova in early next October

Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ – The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) forecasts cool, variable weather and some rain in early October.
According to the SHS’s information and media communication service, in upcoming period the hottest days are expected to be in the southern region of Moldova. In this area, thermometer signs may rise up to +20ºC. During the night, the southern thermal values will reach +11ºC. The forecasts of the centre and northern areas indicate a few degrees less. Thus, in this part of Moldova, it will be +12 – 18ºC during the day, and +03 – 10ºC at night.
The following week, there are possible rains across Moldova, especially in the northern area. There are expected more cloudy days with precipitation of varying intensity there.
In October the average monthly air temperature is 05 – 06ºC lower than in September and in the territory from +08ºC north to +11ºC in the south. The coldest month of October for the entire period of instrumental measurements on much of the territory of Moldova was in 1946, 1951 and 1976, when the average monthly air temperature varied between +04°C (Briceni, 1946) and +07 – 08ºC (Ceadâr – Lunga, 1976). The warmest month of October was in 1966 and 1996, when the average monthly temperature oscillated between +12.5ºC (Briceni, 1966) and +15.1ºC (Comrat, 1996).
