Mini-buses moving on Chisinau municipal routes to undergo technical tests

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/ - The mini-buses moving on the Chisinau municipal routes will undergo technical testing on 1-13 October 2018.  

According to data by the Chisinau city hall, on the same period, the technical state of mini-buses, the aesthetic interior aspect and exterior, including their equipment, will be verified at Chisinau-based testing stations, authorized by the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry.    

The vehicles failing to undergo the technical test in the term set will not be allowed to carry passengers. Also, decision-makers will withdraw the right to provide services of passengers’ carriage of the economic agents failing to present the transport units at the testing.   

The head of the public transport and communication ways general department at the Chisinau city hall, Vitalie Butucel, back in last August informed that the capital was facing a lack of qualified drivers and more mini-bus routes run the risk of being cancelled.  

Data by the public transport and communication ways general department shows that there are presently more than 1,000 min-buses moving on 51 routes in the Chisinau municipality. In 2014, there were about 1,800 mini-buses and before 2008, there were 2,000 transport units moving on 65 routes in the Chisinau municipality.
