Moldovan minister of foreign affairs talks with Ghana counterpart on possibility to expand bilateral relations

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/ – The determination of Moldova to capitalise on and advance its relations with African continent countries creates favourable premises for boosting bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest with Ghana. The statement was made by Foreign and European Integration Minister, Tudor Ulianovschi, at a meeting in New York with Foreign Minister and Regional Integration Minister of Ghana, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
In this context, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi discussed with his counterpart the decision of Moldovan Government to open a diplomatic mission to Accra, which would create the necessary premises for boosting the relations between Moldova and Ghana, while the Chisinau authorities are awaiting the reply of the Foreign Ministry of Ghana.
At his part, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey mentioned that the Accra authorities were considering the Moldovan proposal to open a diplomatic mission, considering that it would contribute to deepening political, diplomatic, economic, social cooperation, etc.
The head of Moldovan diplomacy also mentioned that the analysis of trade and economic relations between Moldova and Ghana, which saw a significant increase in 2017, especially in the fields of production and export of grain products and wine goods, creates all the premises for establishing relations of bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture, exchange of info and experience in the application of agricultural technologies, use of irrigation systems, cultivation of different species of agricultural crops, etc.
During the meeting, Tudor Ulianovschi and Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey exchanged views upon cooperation of Moldova and Ghana within UNO.
