Meteorologists announce yellow frost code for next days

Chisinau, 2 October /MOLDPRES/- The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) announced yellow frost code for 4-6 October.

According to meteorologists, during the night and morning hours, on 4-6 October, frosts are expected on the surface and in the air by up to -2 degrees Celsius.

These are not the first frosts of this autumn. The first ones were recorded on 25 September, in the north.

Sources in the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment (MADRM) said that the frosts will not affect the agricultural branch. "The temperature drop does not present any danger to sunflower, maize or soybean plantations. Only horticultural crops that have been improperly planted, could be affected, although most producers have completed the harvesting operations by this time," MADRM specialists said.

If yellow code, weather conditions are potentially dangerous, forecast weather phenomena are common to the country, but temporarily can be dangerous for certain socio-economic activities.
