Grand Prize for excellent merits in wine sector in 2018 awarded to Moldovan company

Chisinau, 03 October /MOLDPRES/ – The Government has approved today the decision regarding the award of Wine Prize 2018 in enterprise Salcuta for "special merits in the production of high quality wines, propagation of traditions and excellent quality of the local wines". The winners from Salcuta also gained the highest appreciation for "promoting the image of Moldova as a wine country on the international arena as well as for contributing to the development of Moldovan wine tourism".

The enterprise, created in 1995 on the basis of the old wine factory in Salcuta village, Causeni district, is one of the most important producers of high quality wines in Moldova.

For more than two decades, Salcuta, a member of Stefan – Voda Delta Geographic Association, has achieved remarkable success in improving the quality of its products and promoting them on new consumer markets. The wines of company are marketed in Germany, Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Baltic States, Japan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, countries of Africa where their quality and diversity are appreciated, says the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment.

Currently, the plant has over 250 ha of vineyards, including planted with native varieties. For special merits, only in 2017, at various national and international contests, the company won 10 medals.
