Owners of grounds not combating, preventing spread of weeds to be amended in Moldova

Chisinau, 3 October /MOLDPRES/ - The owners of grounds failing to fulfill their obligation to combat and prevent the spread of weeds will be fined.
Private people will pay a fine worth from 12 to 30 conventional units, equivalent to 600-1,500 lei for non-fulfilling the obligations of fighting and preventing the spread of weeds on grounds, except for farmlands. Legal entities will be imposed a fine from 60 to 120 conventional units for the same infringements, under amendments made to the Contravention Code, approved by the government today.
The non-fulfillment of the obligation to combat and prevent the spread of weeds on farmlands will be sanctioned with a fine from 18 to 30 conventional units, imposed against the private person, with a fine worth from 60 to 120 conventional units, imposed against a decision-maker, the draft law submitted to parliament for consideration also reads.
The fines will be imposed by the Inspectorate of Environmental Protection.
