Teachers, educators to get MDL 2,000 annually in Moldova

Chisinau, 03 October /MOLDPRES/ – The teachers working in primary schools, secondary schools, lyceums and other public education institutions, as well as kindergarten educators, will receive financial compensation of MDL 2,000 annually commencing 2019. The money will be allocated to increase the level of training and professional development of the teaching staff, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

As such, the Executive has approved today the Regulation on allocation of annual compensation for teaching staff in public education. The financial means can be used for the procurement of teaching aids, computer engineering, software for use in online training and professional development activities.

"It is a step, perhaps not the most important, but an important step through which we offer these finances, so that we make life easier for teachers. It is significant that this happens on the eve of the Day of Teacher," specified PM Pavel Filip.

The compensation will be provided in a single installment, and if the teacher works more than one teacher's level – amount of compensation will increase. At the same time, the beneficiaries will have to submit to administration of the educational institutions the proof of the use of funds according to their destination.

In study year 2017 – 2018, there were 49,148 teachers working in the public educational institutions. In state budget for 2019, there will be provided about MDL 98,000 for the allocation of compensations.
