Vehicles from Transnistrian region with neutral numbers to be admitted in international road traffic from 9 October

Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/- Starting from 9 October, the means of transport in the Transnistrian region, having plates with neutral registration numbers and permanent registration certificates issued in accordance with Law 170/2018 on registration of vehicles and amending some laws will be admitted in the international road traffic.
The Bureau for Reintegration reminds drivers traveling with such means of transport that during crossing of the state border of Moldova it is necessary to have the following:
* Vehicle Registration Certificate (according to Annex no21 of the government decision of Moldova no770/2012);
* Driving license (national or international), valid for the category (subcategory) of which the vehicle is part, in line with the 1968 Road Traffic Convention, to which the Republic of Moldova joined by the parliament decision no1318/1993;
* Passport valid for travel to countries of destination and/or transit under the respective states.
* Green Card, in accordance with Article 39 of the law no 414/2006 on compulsory insurance of civil liability for damage caused by vehicles;
* Act confirming the entry into service of the vehicle with a neutral registration number (lease contract), according to Article I (9) of the law no 170/2018;
* Report on the periodical technical inspection of the vehicle (government decision no1047/1999; MEI Order no 436 of 24.08.2018);
* Other supporting documents necessary for traveling abroad in line with the requirements of destination and / or transit countries.
The Bureau for Reintegration reminds that the guarantees related to compliance with the 1968 Road Traffic Convention belong to the member state, in which the means of transport involved in international traffic is registered, and checks to ensure compliance are under observation powers Article 39 (2) of Law no 414/2006; art.423 of the Code of Contravention; p.3 of government decision no 847/2018; government decision no 834/2008; IGPF Order no 120 of 25.09.2018; IGPF Order no 91 of 04.07.2017).
Drivers are advised to consult the law of the destination / transit country and observe road traffic rules.
Moldova, in the context of launching the neutral vehicle registration mechanism, has informed depositary of the Convention on International Road Traffic about the new provisions of the national legislation.
