Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/- Parliamentary hearings on the actions taken by the authorities to recover the stolen billion in the banking system will be held next week. Today, MPs voted to postpone the hearings and change the reporting format.
According to the decision of the lawmakers, only the director of the National Anticorruption Center and the governor of the National Bank of Moldova will report in the parliament. The reason for postponing is their involvement in several activities.
At the 27 September meeting, they decided heads of authorities responsible for the investigation of the recovery of fraudulent assets should be heard in parliament. The heads of the General Prosecutor's Office, BNM and CNA were summoned to the report. Subsequently, Prosecutor General Eduard Harunjen sent a letter to Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, informing that he would not attend the hearings on the grounds that the disclosure of the details in this case is contrary to legal principles.
