Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Finance Ministry has started the reception of notes on the state budget for 2019, on which basis the final draft state budget will be worked out, which will be presented to the government and parliament.
After the draft state budget for next year is given final touches, it is to be submitted to cabinet for consideration and approval and afterwards – to parliament for adoption.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the Finance Ministry’s information service, Cristina Nicolau, has said that, before being submitted to the cabinet, the final document of the state budget for 2019 would be subjected to public consultations.
Nicolae noted that no draft on the budgetary and fiscal policy would be presented in 2018, as, during the year, more amendments have already been made to the legislation regarding the fiscal and customs policy, including the ones which entered into force on 1 October 2018.
According to the law on public finances and budgetary and fiscal responsibilities, the government approves and submits to parliament the draft budget law for the next year till 15 October of each year.
Under the medium-term budgetary framework (2019-2021), approved by the government in last August, authorities estimate that the budget revenues will grow in nominal values from 57 billion lei in 2018 to 72.6 billion lei in 2021, or by 24.7 lei.
The International Monetary Fund has earlier forecast that Moldova’s economy would grow by 3.8 per cent in 2019 and the World Bank anticipated a 3.7-per cent increase.
