Firefighters in Moldova's autonomy benefit from aid on behalf of TIKA

Chisinau, 04 October /MOLDPRES/ – The Gagauzian Fire Brigade received on 03 October awards from Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TIKA). The donation includes equipment and materials necessary for first aid in case of exceptional situations.

"All localities in which fire and rescue points work have benefited from aid. This is a result of our collaboration with TIKA Agency. The firefighters in rural areas are the first to react when it comes to local fire and need additional equipment," said head of the Department for Exceptional Situations (DSE) in the Gagauz Autonomy, Vitali Cissa, quoted by gagauzinfo.md.

The quoted source stated that the donation of Turkish partners is a substantial aid not only for firefighters and rescuers, but also for local authorities. "Now it will be easier for the mayoralties to maintain the fire stations," said the head of the DSE in Comrat.

The rescuers from Gagauzia received special clothing, modern technical equipment and personal utensils.
