Moldovan, Slovakian foreign affairs ministers discuss bilateral cooperation in Kiev

Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and his Slovakian counterpart Miroslav Lajčák in Kiev have discussed the promotion of a consistent Moldovan-Slovakian political dialogue, development of commercial and economic relations and other ties between Moldova and Slovakia, as well as the support of Slovakian partners for the implementation of the agenda of structural reforms, in line with the Moldova-EU Association Agreement.
According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi appreciated the support of Moldova by the member states of the Visegrad Group (V4) and stressed the importance attached by V4 to strengthening the relations with the states of the Eastern Partnership. Referring to the deepening of the political dialogue between Moldova and Slovakia, the Moldovan diplomacy head showed increased interest in the organization of the next round of bilateral consultations in Chisinau. Ulianovschi praised the financial and technical assistance provided by the Slovakian government to Moldova to carry out national projects of major importance for the country’s economy and the citizens.
For his part, Foreign Affairs Minister of Slovakia Miroslav Lajčák reiterated the support by the Bratislava authorities for Moldova’s European integration, as well as the need to further implement reforms in various sectors of the social and economic life. At the same time, the Slovakian foreign affairs minister encouraged the Moldovan authorities to ensure a good holding of the parliamentary polls due in next February.
In the context, the Slovakian official assured his Moldovan counterpart of the support for the agenda of structural reforms both within the European structures, and in the V4 Group, in which Slovakia took over the chairmanship on 1 July 2018.
Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi paid an official visit to Ukraine on 3-4 October, at an invitation by his Ukrainian counterpart Pavlo Klimkin.
