Moldovan plastic artist vernises anniversary exhibition at national art museum

Chisinau, 04 October /MOLDPRES/ – It was varnished today an anniversary exhibition: Fluctuatii in timp by plastic artist Mihai Tarus at the National Art Museum (MNA) of Moldova.
The exhibition includes 45 paintings, made by the author in recent years.
Interviewed by agency, the Moldovan Artists Union President, Dumitru Bolboceanu, said that Mihai Tarus is one of the most famous and appreciated painters in Moldova. "He has a particular vision of the plastic arts. While studying in St. Petersburg, he was influenced by Vladimir Sterligov, disciple of Kazimir Malevich and the promoter of a new painting system. Thus, he became a modern plastic artist, his works being appreciated in several countries," said Dumitru Bolboceanu.
At his turn, art critic Tudor Stavila, doctor habilitat in art studies, said that Mihai Tarus is one of the promoters of the contemporary avant – garde painting. "The given exhibition is absolutely different from the others ones previously. The graphism and rationalism disappeared, and his painting became more dynamic, more lyrical and poetic, a direct influence of the artistic ambiance in Chisinau," said Tudor Stavila.
According to sculptor Dumitru Verdianu, Mihai Tarus is a great artist, with whom he had an exhibition in Sankt – Petersburg in 2005 in a hall of 5,000 m2. "Many paintings we did together. In fact, he was the one who urged me to paint," said Dumitru Verdianu.
Mihai Tarus was born on 10 December 1948 in commune Sinesti, Ungheni district. In 1964 he graduated from the School of Fine Arts for Children A. Sciusev, in 1968 – College of Fine Arts A. Plamadeau and in 1975 – the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts. In 1999, he was awarded the honorary title Master in Art, in 2007 – with the silver medal of the Academy of Painting of Russia and in 2010 – with the gold medal at the painting exhibition in Cannes, France. He has works in public and private collections in Moldova and abroad, including the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
The exhibition is open until 04 November.
