Moldovan PM strongly considers development of state starts from education

Chisinau, 04 October /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, has participated today at the festive ceremony dedicated to the Day of the Teacher. The Prime Minister congratulated the teachers on occasion of the professional celebration, appreciating the dedication they give daily to education of the future generations, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
"I feel in charge for responding to your work by concrete actions relating to the life and work of teachers and ensuring an adequate level of our education system. I appreciate you. You are the key element behind the development of a society. I strongly consider that the development of a state starts from education," specified PM.
Pavel Filip mentioned that education is a major priority and a new vision in the field of education is currently being developed: "The area of influence of the ideas of the new vision is wide: from the learning standards to the endowment of the educational institutions, to modern ways of continuous teacher training to their proper remuneration. As far as we know that investment in education is expensive, but the lack of it costs us even more expensive, as a society and as a country."
The PM also said that "we need shared responsibility, commitment and trust from all the actors involved" to make further progress in this area and reconsider the whole education system.
In order to support teachers, the Government has undertaken several actions. Even in its meeting on 03 October, the Executive approved the increase of the allowances for young teachers from MDL 45,000 to MDL 120,000 in the first 3 years of their activity, and the granting of a compensation of MDL 2,000 per year to teachers and educators for teaching materials, computing facilities and professional development. Also, several high schools and about 900 kindergartens have been renovated in Moldova.
During the event, there were awarded winners of the national contest "Pedagogue of the Year". Those who took the 1st place – were awarded with MDL 50 thousand, second place – MDL 25 thousand and 3rd place – MDL 15 thousand.
