Moldovan actor celebrates 70th anniversary

Chisinau, 09 February /MOLDPRES/ – Theatre and cinema actor, Jan (Eugen) Cucuruzac, employee of the National Theatre Satiricus I. L. Caragiale in Chisinau, People's Artist, celebrates the anniversary of 70 years of age today.
He was born on 09 February 1949, in village Serbaca, Balti county, now Rascani district (today the village does not exist as it was flooded by waters of the Prut river after the construction of the Costesti – Stanca hydro power plant).
In 1976, he graduated from the acting faculty of the Gavriil Musicescu Arts Institute in Chisinau. He began his artistic career as an actor on the stage of Vasile Alecsandri Theatre in Balti, where he worked in 1976 – 1980, after which he was a member of the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre in Chisinau (1980 – 1990).
In 1990, he was among the founders of the Municipal Theatre Satiricus Ion Luca Caragiale in Chisinau, where he is still playing in performances. One year after his release on the stage of theatre, he also began his debut as a cinema actor in the cinema getting roles in more films.
He was awarded the Ion Luca Caragiale Prize, the title of Master of Arts, and in 2011 he was awarded the title of Artist of the People.
