Almost twelve million ballots to be printed for parliamentary elections, referendum in Moldova

Chisinau, 09 February /MOLDPRES/ – The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has established at its meeting today the circulation of the ballots in the parliamentary elections and the Republican consultative referendum of 24 February 2019 for the polling stations in the uninominal constituencies №№01 – 48. There will be printed a total of 11,863,788 ballots.
According to the CEC’s information and media communication service, there will be printed ballot papers on opaque paper (matte), and distinguished by colour: those for parliamentary elections in the uninominal constituencies will be violet and in national constituency – smoked gray colour.
In the case of the Republican consultative referendum: the bulletin containing the question: Are you for the reduction of the number of MPs from Parliament from 101 to 61? will have the pale yellow colour and the one on which the question: You are for the people to be able to revoke dismiss MPs from office if they do not properly fulfill their obligations? – will be of beige colour.
The parliamentary elections of 24 February will be held after a mixed electoral system. Thus, there will be elected 50 MPs on party lists and 51 ones in uninominal constituencies. On the same day, it will be held an advisory referendum on reducing the number of MPs from 101 to 61 and their dismissal if they fail to fulfill their obligations properly.
