Chisinau, 10 February /MOLDPRES/ – An amount of books for teaching the Romanian language was recently brought to Gagauzia. It is part of a project supported by the development partners, allowing preschoolers from autonomy to learn in parallel the state and the Gagauzian languages.
According to vice governor of Comrat for social issues, Olesea Tanasoglo, the parallel programme of Romanian and Gagauzian languages started two years ago with the support of the OSCE and the National Association of European Trainers in Moldova (ANTEM). The project has shown optimistic results, and the knowledge of children has improved considerably in ten participating kindergartens.
"The textbooks were elaborated by specialists of the Comrat State University (USC), as well as the ones from the Pedagogical State University Ion Creanga. The teaching material includes poems, songs and stories in the state and Gagauz languages, special factsheets for better assimilation of themes, and methodical material for teachers. There is to be taken a decision on distribution of books at the next meeting of the autonomy Executive," explained Olesea Tanasoglo, quoted by gagauzinfo.md.
The parallel language project has been developed in kindergartens of Comrat, Ceadar – Lunga, Vulcanesti, Chirsova, Gaidar, Tomai and Cismichioi. The teaching materials are elaborated in Romanian and Gagauzian within project: Integrare cu respect pentru diversitate (The integration with respect for diversity) by financial support of the OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities. The simultaneous learning programme for Romanian and Gagauz was launched in 2017 with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
