Meeting of working groups for rail, communications held in Tiraspol

Chisinau, 11 February /MOLDPRES/- A meeting of working groups for rail and communications was held on Friday at the OSCE Mission in Tiraspol with the participation of the representatives of the "5 + 2" negotiation format.

The Chişinău delegation was led by Director General of the Moldovan Railways state enterprise Iurii Topala, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

The meeting was focused on the issues existing in railway traffic, especially related to the freight and passenger trains, the tariffs applied for the use of railway sections and the import of certain categories of goods in the conditions of organizing joint control at the crossing points located on the central border of the state border Moldova-Ukraine.

A strong topic proposed by the Transnistrian side over the last years is the reopening of the import of petroleum products at the Slobodca-Colbasna crossing point, despite the Moldovan side's arguments about the lack of the necessary infrastructure at that point, making it possible to carry out such imports through the Cuciurgan-Novosavitcaia crossing point according to the provisions of the Government Decision No1232 of 09.11.2016, and the need to solve a lot of problems in the railway communications.

The next meeting of the working group will take place in Chisinau.
