Switzerland to provide 6 million euros for Program - Capitalizing migration potential in Moldova

Chisinau, 11 February /MOLDPRES/- The government today approved the decision on the initiation of negotiations and the approval of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the State Chancellery of the Republic of Moldova and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation on the Program, Capitalizing the potential of migration in the Republic of Moldova, Phase II. The total amount of Switzerland's contribution is 6.13 million euros.

The implementation of the Program, due to be implemented over four years, will maximize the positive impact of migration on the socio-economic development of Moldova through the improvement of the institutional framework and the involvement of the Diaspora, the authors of the project said.

The money will be used to implement the project Strengthening the institutional framework for migration and development in Moldova, implemented by the Diaspora Relations Office (BRD) and the Migration and Local Development - MiDL project implemented by the United Nations Development Program with BRD support.
