Chisinau, 11 February /MOLDPRES/ – The persons with locomotor disabilities will be exempted from paying customs duties on the import of passenger cars with a cylinder capacity of up to 2,500 cm3, irrespective of operating period. The amendments have been approved by the Government today.
According to the Customs Service's information and media communication service, in order to benefit from exemptions, the applicants will have to submit a set of acts stipulated in the Regulation on the application of tax and customs facilities on the import of special purpose vehicles.
According to the customs authorities, the modifications considerably simplify the procedure of importing special purpose vehicles, eliminating the conditions for the car to be appropriately donated or re – equipped accordingly.
Also, such vehicles can be imported with exemptions once every five years. Until now, this was only possible after the expiration of the seven – year term.
Another novelty is that the listed facilities will benefit all persons with special needs, regardless of the degree of disability.
The amendments will come into force with their publication in the Official Journal of Moldova (MORM).
