Heavy snowfall, sleet to last in Moldova till 13 February

Chisinau, 12 February /MOLDPRES/ - The heavy snowfall and sleet will last till 13 February and starting from 14 February, sunny weather is expected, according to the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS).

Snowfall and sleet are forecast in the northern and central Moldova and only short rains are expected in the southern region. The precipitation will not be able to create a thick snow layer, as they occur while the maximum air temperature reach +3 - +5 Celsius degrees. Starting from 13 February, the weather is to cool, but only at night, when the air temperature will oscillate between -5 and -7 degrees. During the day, the air temperature will vary between +3 and +5 degrees.

The following meteorological phenomena are possible in February: fog (2-7 days), white frost and glazed frost (2-6 days), ice (about ten days) and snow storm (1-2 days).
