All national roads passable

Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/- The workers carried out patrolling and snow-clearing during the night. At present all national roads are passable and the traffic is under winter conditions.
The head of the State Road Administration's Operational Service, Sergiu Capatina, said that during the night the precipitations were not recorded in the country.
"During this period, priority was given to snow-clearing works and fighting slide on regional roads. The traffic on the M1 highway border with Romania-Leuseni-Chisinau-Dubasari- border with Ukraine, km 50-56 (around Stejareni village) has been restored. All hazardous sectors are constantly monitored by road managers and, if necessary, intervening," he said.
Last night, 231 workers and 144 special vehicles were involved in snow-clearing and fighting slide, spreading over 1,952 tons of anti-slip material.
At the same time, the Ministry of Defense announced that the servicemen of Negreşti Engineer Battalion trailed 12 TIRs and nine cars yesterday evening. The intervention was carried out on the national route M5, between Bravicea and Ţigăneşti localities.
This morning, the Chisinau city hall announced that public transport is running on all routes.
During the night, road workers intervened with 14 cars, and spread 230 cubic meters of anti-slip material and 13 tons of technical salt.
At the same time, employees of the Housing Administration intervened with 15 special vehicles and spread 50 tons of salt. Also, 380 workers are involved in cleaning and sprinkling anti-skid material at public transport stops, pedestrian crossings and around public institutions.
The city hall leadership urges economic agents and property managers to intervene to combat icy territories where they operate. Authorities warn pedestrians and drivers to be cautious in traffic, to strictly observe traffic rules.
In the following days the weather remains cold. At night the air temperature will reach -5 degrees in the north and during the day +5 degrees in the south. Precipitation will be expected in some areas.
