Over 241 tons of anti-skid material spread to fight slide

Chisinau, 14 February /MOLDPRES/- Over 241 tons of anti-skid material was spread last night to fight slide.

The head of the State Road Administration's Operations Service, Sergiu Capatina, said that rainfall and snowfall were recorded in the north and the center of the country during the night.

“In order to maintain a satisfactory condition of national roads, patrol work, snow removal and fighting the slide were carried out. 31 special vehicles and 90 road workers were involved in the works. At present, all national roads are passable, the traffic is under ordinary way. All hazardous sectors are continuously monitored by road managers and if necessary, intervening," he said.

In the following days the weather remains cold. At night the air temperature will reach -5 degrees in the north, and during the day +5 degrees in the south. Rain and snow are expected in some areas.
