Moldovan foreign affairs minister, Lithuanian ambassador discuss bilateral relations

Chisinau, 14 February /MOLDPRES/ - The dialogue within the Council of Europe, priorities on the European integration dimension, as well as the Moldovan-Lithuanian cooperation have been discussed by Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and Ambassador of Lithuania to Moldova Kęstutis Kudzmanas, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
Tudor Ulianovschi and Kęstutis Kudzmanas assessed the present stage of cooperation between Moldova and Lithuania. The officials also reviewed the main developments on the European dimension and exchanged opinions on the organization and holding of the parliamentary polls in Moldova.
As for the sectoral cooperation, Ambassador Kęstutis Kudzmanas reiterated Lithuania’s willingness to assist Moldova in terms of fighting hybrid threats; the sides also discussed possibility of jointly organizing events on this matter with Lithuanian partners.
The officials also exchanged opinions on the bilateral cooperation between the two states on the multilateral platform of the Council of Europe, opportunities of optimizing these ties, as well as the challenges faced by this organization at present. In the context, the Lithuanian diplomat presented the candidature of Andrius Kubilius, a former prime minister, member of Lithuania’s Seimas (parliament), for the office of Secretary General of the Council of Europe. The concerned elections are to take place this year.
