Kindergarten to be rebuilt, reopened in sector of Chisinau municipality

Chisinau, 14 February /MOLDPRES/ – Kindergarten №166 in the Buiucani sector of Chisinau municipality will be rebuilt and reopened. The works have started today and are to be completed in the autumn.

The acting mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, said that "reopening of kindergarten has been provided with MDL 7.5 million, and it will be launched the tender for the purchase of furniture and equipment within three weeks."

The municipal authorities are proposing that in September, the institution will be already operational and the process of enrollment for kindergarten places is already open, being organised throughout portal egradinita.md.

The headquarters reconstruction is based on a public – private partnership to meet the high number of requests for childcare in kindergartens. The project provides for rehabilitation of headquarters, landscaping, pavilions and playground for children, as well as the installation of a new fence.

The economic agent assumes the execution of the modernisation works totalling MDL 20 million, and after reopening, the kindergarten will preserve its status as a public institution. Instead, the municipality offered for leasing a building plot for 49 years on str. Colina Puskin.

The kindergarten building has been damaged since 2006, previously leased to a private education institution. After the complete rehabilitation of the building, there will be formed 13 groups of children and the institution capacity being 280 children.

Also during 2019, the pre – school institution №03, str. Ion Pelivan 30/1, with seven groups of children and 210 places and nursery №48, with 120 places on str. Stefan Neaga, 19.

For 2019, it has been provided the amount of MDL 43 million in the municipal budget for the opening of seven kindergartens in Chisinau municipality.
