Public Service Agency employees to work on election day, release provisional IDs for citizens in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 February /MOLDPRES/ – The employees of the Public Service Agency (ASP) will work on the day of the parliamentary elections and issue citizens with provisional identity cards so as to participate in polls.
According to ASP's information and media communication service, 24 February was declared working day for employees of subdivisions in charge for issuing identity papers, including within multi – purpose centres. Thus, the employees of ASP will ensure the delivery of identity documents at 07:00 – 21:00.
On 19 – 24 February, the provisional identity card will be issued free of charge upon request to citizens with voting rights which do not have an ID or whose one is not valid. The applicants will not submit civil status documents if info on personal data and their change is found in the state registry (RS) of population.
The citizens which applied for the issue of the identity card on 24 January – 21 February, regardless of the term of the requested service and the fee paid, may raise the identity card until 22 February, inclusive.
Also, the citizens which will request the identity card on 22 – 23 February will be also issued free of charge with the provisional identity card as to participate in poll.
The parliamentary elections will take place on 24 February. On the same day, it will be held an advisory referendum on reducing the number of MPs and dismissing them.
