Moldovan prosecutors recovered damages worth over 214 million lei in 2018

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/- The prosecutors recovered last year damages amounting to over 214 million lei, compared to 144 million lei in 2017.

According to the General Prosecutor's Office, the prosecutors have found damages of over 2.6 billion lei, caused both to the public budget and to the private people and legal entities. In 2017, the damage amounted to 5.1 billion lei.

Of the total amount recovered by prosecutors, about 80 million lei were returned to the public budget and over 134 million lei - for the benefit of individuals and legal entities.

Also, in order to ensure the recovery of the damages caused by the offenses, the prosecutors seized the assets of the perpetrators worth about 488 million lei.
