Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/- Law on chemicals and presidential decree on its promulgation were published in the Official Journal of Moldova today.

The law regulates the obligations of private people and legal entities producing or placing on the market chemicals and restrictions on their production, placing on the market, import, export and use. At the same time, the document stipulates the conditions for classification, labeling and packaging of chemical substances and mixtures.

Under the new law, chemical substances and mixtures have to be classified and labeled with data on the identity of the economic operator placing the product on the market, the name of the substance or product, the hazardous properties and the safety measures for use.

The law will enter into force 12 months after its publication in the Official Journal of Moldova.
