Many streets in Ungheni to be illuminated

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/- Several streets in Ungheni municipality are in the process of upgrading, installing an efficient public lighting system. The works are carried out by the mayoralty from the local budget.

“We focus our efforts to ensure public lighting in the outlying neighborhoods of the city. As a result of these works, 27 luminaires were installed on these streets so that those who live here feel safe in the night, " deputy mayor of Ungheni Lilia Bernic said.

According to Ghenadie Ciobanu, a specialist of the municipal roads department of Ungheni city hall, LED bulbs are used to save up to 50% of electricity compared to the usual ones and have a much longer service life.

“Over the past ten years, much of the local financial resources have been directed to keep the city's lighting system functional, replacing obsolete components with modern ones, and expanding urban lighting networks. One of our priorities is the modernization of the lighting system, and for this we are looking for solutions that would allow remote control to optimize the work of the workers in the field. We also try to identify innovative methods whereby citizens can signal where there is no light, " mayor of Ungheni Alexandru Ambros said.
