Moldovan teachers to receive assistance to prevent abuse situations in schools, kindergartens

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - Teachers will receive specialized assistance, in order to prevent abuse situations in schools and kindergartens.  

According to the Chisinau city hall, the local authorities took note about a case of aggression against a child, recorded at a kindergarten from the Moldovan capital on 14 February. Thus, to establish the circumstances of the case, a working group was created.   

The acting mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, condemned the abuse cases in the education sector. “The violence against children cannot be tolerated and such staff cannot be members of the municipal specialized system,” Codreanu said.    

In the wake of the incident, competent specialists provided psychological assistance both to the aggressed child and his parents. Also, the authorities informed that they had qualified staff to provide specialized assistance, in order to prevent cases of this kind.  

Employees of the early education institutions, schools and lyceums, as well as children’s parents will benefit from assistance, in order to overcome situations of abuse, as well as advise eventual victims.
