Printing ballots for parliamentary elections in uninominal constituencies starts

Chisinau, 18 February /MOLDPRES/- Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today announced the start of printing ballots for parliamentary elections in uninominal constituencies.
According to the CEC leadership, over 3.4 million ballots will be printed for the parliamentary elections in the uninominal constituencies.
Today, the Universul Publishing House started printing the ballots to be distributed to the polling station electoral bureaus in the uninominal constituencies no.1-18. There will be printed 1.1 million ballots.
The price of a ballot paper is 0.33 lei.
In the uninominal electoral constituencies 323 candidates were enrolled, nine cases are under examination in the court.
The 24 February parliamentary elections will be held for the first time under a mixed electoral system. Thus, 50 MPs will be elected on party lists and 51 - in uninominal constituencies. On the same day, a consultative referendum on reducing the number of lawmakers and their dismissal will be held.
