Moldova notifies international organizations on Russia's actions in case of Moldovan pilots

Chisinau, 18 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) has notified more international organizations about Russia’s inadmissible actions in the case of the two Moldovan pilots who has been recently released from captivity in Afghanistan and carried to Moscow, the MAEIE press service has reported.
In particular, the information presented makes reference to the Russian authorities’ procrastinations to give Moldova’s delegation access to the Moldovan citizens held in Moscow, as well as to the infringement by Russia’s actions of the international norms in force, of the Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic and Consular Rights, as well as of the Moldovan-Russian consular convention.
The Moldovan authorities expressed concern about such a behavior on the international stage and asked for the support of the international organizations Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights, Office of the EU Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality, Central Office of Amnesty International and other institutions, in order to get the situation of the Moldovan pilots held in Moscow to the framework of lawfulness and compliance with the international law.
