Young Moldovan entrepreneurs to benefit from support on behalf of state

Chisinau, 19 February /MOLDPRES/ - Young people from Moldova, due to start their own business or who lead a newly-registered enterprise, will benefit from support on behalf of the state. A programme to this end was launched in Chisinau today.
The programme, START for Young People: a sustainable business at home, will back about 600 young people in the process of generating business ideas. At the same time, 250 businesses initiated by young people will receive financing worth 180,000 lei at the most. Another 540 young people will benefit from training and assistance in starting innovating business. The programme’s initiators estimate the creation of at least 400 new jobs, of which 70 per cent in rural areas.
At the programme’s launch today, the acting director general of the Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development (ODIMM), Petru Gurgurov, said that, within the programme, young people would benefit from support at each stage of working out and implementation of the investment project. Young people with business ideas, citizens of Moldova with ages between 18 and 35 years, can apply for the programme. Businesses due to allow creating jobs in villages will be given priority.
The state secretary general at the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, Iulia Costin, stressed that the keeping of young people in Moldova, as well as their motivation for carrying out entrepreneurial activities, preponderantly in rural zones, had boosted the initiation of the programme with financing from the state budget. “Through this programme, we are set to integrate young people from Moldova in the economic circulation and to facilitate the starting and developing of business, create fair jobs, cease the phenomenon of migration and ensure a decent living for the young generation,” Iulia Costin said.
Young people can register for the programme will late next March.
