Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - The list of economic agents benefiting from facilities and simplified customs clearance procedures has been completed with another two entrepreneurs. One of them was offered the status of Authorized Economic Agent (AEO) and the second one received the authorization of customs clearance at home (PVD).
The authorizations were issued after beneficiaries had met a string of conditions, among which the voluntary compliance, lack of serious customs and fiscal infringements, as well as of debts to the national public budget.
Presently, 118 authorized economic agents and 78 entrepreneurs having the permission of customs clearance at home are registered.
According to the Customs Service, the AEO concept was implemented in Moldova in 2014 and was a condition of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement. The concerned status gives the holder a string of benefits, such as the simplification of the customs procedures, cutting the number of controls and priority crossing of the border. At the same time, the beneficiary has possibility to choose the place of carrying out controls and postpone the customs payments for a period of up to 30 days.
At the same time, the customs clearance at home (PVD) allows the holder submitting electronic customs declarations, without the need to present the imported or exported goods at a customs checkpoint. Thus, economic agents have possibility to pay customs duties for the goods at their own headquarters or warehouse, authorized by the customs body, which will allow them save time and cut the transport costs.
