Ambassador agree of Latvia to Moldova presents copies of accreditation letters at Foreign Affairs Ministry

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ - The present stage of the relations between Moldova and Latvia, frequent dynamic contacts between the two countries, as well as the political, diplomatic and sectoral cooperation were discussed at a today’s meeting between the state secretary at the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE), Carolina Perebinos, and Ambassador Agree of Latvia to Moldova Uldis Mikut, who presented his accreditation letters, the MAEIE public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.     

The two officials reviewed the bilateral relations, referring to prospects of the Moldovan-Latvian dialogue. The sides also exchanged opinions on the interaction in diverse sectors on the next period, including on the dimension of the European integration, given the tenth anniversary of the Eastern Partnership’s launch. In the context, Ambassador Uldis Mikut reiterated his country’s support for the advancement of Moldova’s European integration.      

The Moldovan state secretary thanked the Latvian diplomat for diverse sectoral projects financed by the government of Latvia within the assistance for development. Ambassador Uldis Mikut confirmed that his country would continue providing needed assistance and expertise in many fields.  

The officials also discussed subjects on the advancement of the commercial and economic cooperation, strengthening the bilateral legal framework, cooperation and mutual support within international organizations, etc.  

State secretary Carolina Perebinos wished success to the new ambassador in fulfilling his mandate and assured him of MAEIE’s support in carrying out his work in Moldova.
