Certification of air traffic controllers to be carried out within European regulations in Moldova

Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/ – The Government has approved today the Regulation establishing the administrative requirements and procedures relating to certificates of the air traffic controllers. The project was designed to ensure that the European regulations included in Annex III to the Agreement on common space (ASC) of Moldova – EU and its Member States, signed in Brussels in 2012, are implemented in the national framework.
The Regulation lays down the conditions for the issue, suspension and revocation of certificates, ratings and associated authorisations granted to air traffic controllers and trainee air traffic controllers, as well as to the privileges and liabilities of their holders. The document also provides for the conditions for the issue, limitation, suspension and revocation of medical certificates granted to air traffic controllers and trainee air traffic controllers, as well as the privileges and responsibilities of their holders.
According to the draft, the Regulation applies to trainee air traffic controllers and air traffic controllers exercising their functions under Air Code №301/2017, as well as persons and organisations involved in certifying, training, testing, verifying, examining and assessing medical candidates in accordance with that Regulation.
