Japan provides Moldova with over 230,000 dollars for three human security projects

Chisinau, 28 February /MOLDPRES/ - The government of Japan has provided grants worth over 230,000 dollars for financing three human security projects in Moldova, within the Kusanone programme.
The first project due to benefit from financing regards the improvement of the conditions of education at the Maria Cebotari Arts School for Children from Cahul. The institution will receive a grant worth more than 89,000 dollars to this end. Another about 79,000 dollars will be meant for the modernization of the medical equipment at the Rezina district hospital. The third project implies modernization of a kindergarten from the village of Sireti, central Straseni district. About 65,000 dollars will be earmarked on the purpose.
The grant contracts for the project’s implementation were signed in Chisinau today. Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Masanobu Yoshii said that the goal of the Kusanone programme was to promote the human security and improve the life quality. According to the official, most beneficiaries of the programme are medical and education institutions from Moldova.
The Kusanone programme was launched in Moldova in 2008 and 55 projects, preponderantly in the public health and school and pre-school education sectors, have received non-refundable financing worth 4.5 million dollars on behalf of Japan so far.
