One hundred libraries from Moldova to be modernized, supplied with books

Chisinau, 1 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Minister for Romanians Abroad Natalia Elena Intotero today discussed the close bilateral relations and joint projects, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
At the event, the PM said that this meeting took place on the symbolical day, when the Martisor (1 March day) is marked. Following joint efforts, the Martisor (March trinket) was included in UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. And today, all the world, including the GOOGLE, knows about the Martisor.
Pavel Filip thanked Romania for the constant support provided. He noted that a draft roadmap for the continuation of cooperation, under the agreements reached at the last meeting of the Moldovan and Romanian cabinets, had been already elaborated and was to be submitted to the Romanian side.
„While so far, our relations have been based more on emotion, at present, we have a pragmatic approach. We wanted serious Romanian investors and we have them: Banca Transilvania and the Transgaz company. Jointly, we develop also infrastructure projects, on interconnection in terms of natural gas, electric energy, communications and transport. We must have unification through deeds, a unification of the infrastructures, so that nobody can divide us,” Pavel Filip said. In particular, the PM highlighted the opportunity of developing a cross border project of switching to European gauge on the Chisinau-Iasi railway segment, as well as launching a high-speed train Chisinau-Bucharest.
„ Moldova represents for us much more than a country in the Strategic Partnership. We are not only colleagues, but also friends,” Natalia Elena Intotero said. The ministers for Romanians abroad noted that, at present, the sides discuss possibility to modernize 100 libraries from Moldova and supply them with books, as well as the promotion of joint projects for the Diaspora.
Pavel Filip appreciated these projects, stressing the importance of preserving and promoting the traditions and strengthening the cooperation in the culture sector. “If we do not invest in culture, we do have where to gather fruits in the economy from.”
At present, with joint efforts, the Romanian embroidered peasant’s shirt is promoted to be included in UNESCO’s Intangible Heritage.
