International Music Festival inaugurated in Moldova

Chisinau, 01 March /MOLDPRES/ – The 53rd issue of the International Music Festival Martisor, taking place on 01 – 10 March in Chisinau municipality and throughout Moldova, was inaugurated at the National Palace Nicolae Sulac in the capital this evening.
In her greeting message, Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc, has mentioned that we celebrate Martisor today, this unique symbol of spring, characteristic of all Romanians and all the ones in the Romanian area, but not only. "And a lot of Balkan peoples celebrate Martisor on the first day of spring, but I do not know if any of them can enjoy this day for the 53rd time of an international music festival: Martisor, which was also inaugurated this year by the exceptional conducting wand of the great violinist and conductor Nicolae Botgros and his Lautarii, famous and exceptional musician, guitarist and composer Alex Calancea."
According to official, the Festival at its 53rd issue will include 47 musical performances on Moldovan biggest stages: the National Palace Nicolae Sulac, National Philharmonic Serghei Lunchevici, National Opera and Ballet Theatre Maria Biesu; Organ Hall. Out of these, there will be held 22 concerts in 13 districts of Moldova, Gagauzia, two performances in Tiraspol and 01 in Bender.
Interviewed by agency, violinist and conductor Nicolae Botgros said that during the 40 years of Orchestra Lautarii, he has participated in over 30 issues of Festival Martisor. "In the current issue we will have three shows. Today we played folk music, rock music, classical music and light music. On 04 March we will have a folk music show at the National Palace, and on 07 March we shall hold a show with the famous musician and performer Goran Bregovici," said Nicolae Botgros.
In the context, professor in the art studies Aurelian Danila has pointed out that for recent 05 – 06 years, every issue of Festival Martisor has been something new. "It is quite difficult to do it. I am glad that there are several concerts with valuable interpreters from several countries in the current issue," affirmed Aurelian Danila.
The musical – choreographic performance, named: In the duet with spring, was supported tonight by the National Music Orchestra Lautarii and Alex Calancea Band, Monica Anghel, Paula Seling, Mariana Bulicanu, Vali Boghean, Ion Paladi, Cristian Botgros, Tatiana Jacota, Lilian Rosca, National Folk Dance Ensemble Joc, Brio Sonores and Folk Ensemble Maru Margaritar.
The current issue features artists from 14 countries: Armenia, Austria, China, France, Russia, Italy, Latvia, Great Britain, Romania, Serbia, Spain, USA, Ukraine and Moldova.
The budget of Festival Martisor – 2019 amounts up to MDL 2.6 million.
