Mihai Volontir museum to be set up in Soldanesti

Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/- A museum in memory of departed artist Mihai Volontir will be created in his native village, Glinjeni, Soldanesti district. The museum will be set into the cultural circuit of the Republic of Moldova.
The cabinet approved at the 27 February meeting a draft decision on transfer of a real estate from the public property of the state to that of the village Glinjeni for the purpose of setting up the Mihai Volontir Memorial House.
The building is delivered free of charge at the request of the Glinjeni mayoralty for the founding and opening of the Memorial House in honor of the actor Mihai Volontir, who on 9 March 2019 would have been 85 years.
According to Vladimir Baldovici, director-general of the Public Property Agency, the implementation of this project does not involve public financial expenses. "Together with the Local Council of Glinjeni, a commission will be set up to ensure the transmission of the property in accordance with the legal provisions," Baldovici said.
The building is managed by the Moldovan Post Office state-owned enterprise, has a total area of 70.85 square meters and is not used for many years.
Mihai Volontir (March 9, 1934, Glinjeni - September 15, 2015, Chisinau) was an actor from the Republic of Moldova, a former deputy in the first Parliament of the country in 1990-1994. He was one of the 278 MPs who voted on the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova on 27 August 1991.
In 2000, Mihai Volontir was nominated as the best actor of the 20th century in Moldovan cinema.
