Customs Service collected over 1.5 billion lei in budget in February

Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/- Revenue collected by the Customs Service to the state budget in February this year amounted to 1 billion 512 million lei, up by 9% than in the same period of 2018. The number of customs declarations made in this period exceeded 46,000.
According to the Customs Service data, in the first two months of this year, the institution collected 2.7 billion lei, up by 61.8 million lei compared to the same period last year.
At the same time, in February, 725 violations of customs legislation were reported. The most common violations refer to the exceeding the period of stay in Moldova of cars with foreign registration plates, violation of the transit or customs declaration deadlines, non-authentication or inappropriate declaration of goods.
At the same time, 396 reports were drawn up on contravention and fines amounting to over 1.6 billion lei.
In February, the flow of transport units was 296,452 crossings. The highest traffic values were registered at the Moldovan-Romanian border, while the most transited customs posts remain Leuşeni and Sculeni.
