Over 850 hectares of land damaged by vegetation fires in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/- Over 850 hectares of land have been affected by the 56 forest fires in the last 24 hours. Firemen warn people to avoid burning vegetation and dried leaves these days.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, firemen intervened to extinguish fires in several localities in the country, including in Chisinau, Truseni, where the fire affected 10 hectares of land.
In the center of the country, the fire destroyed 29 hectares of land in Ialoveni, Costesti, 20 hectares in Orhei district, Donici village and 15 hectares in Anenii Noi, Ţînţăreni village.
Another 50 hectares of vegetation would burn near the village of Taxobeni, Falesti district. More areas of land were affected by fire in Gagauzia. Thus the firemen have extinguished more than 20 hectares of dry grass near Vulcanesti. Several dry vegetation fires were recorded in Cantemir, Edinet and Calarasi.
IGSU employees urge the population to comply with fire-fighting rules when using open fire.
In the last 24 hours, IGSU employees intervened in 89 risk situations, including the liquidation of burning outbreaks and door unlocking.
