Several bridges in Moldovan capital to be repaired

Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/- The technical expertise of the bridge on Mihai Viteazul street in the capital and the one around the Circus was completed, and the Transport Department of the Chisinau city hall launched the tender for the selection of the design institution that will elaborate the project for the rehabilitation of the two bridges. Experts say they do not pose a danger, and recommend urgent action on those bridges.

"The experts recommended first of all the intervention at the bridge on Mihai Viteazul Street. In the coming period, we will receive the expertise for the bridge on Ismail Street. Also this year, we intend to intervene with current repairs at all bridges, where it is strictly necessary to intervene to secure pedestrian zones or expansion joints, " the head of the public transport department of the Chisinau city hall,  Vitalie Butucel, said today.

Acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu said that pavement design and road repair will be done as soon as weather conditions allow. "We have to make a difference between the consolidation and design of bridges that will be tens of millions of lei and pavement works and the repair of the road on the bridges that we will do as soon as the weather allows," he said.

The bridge on Mihai Viteazul and that around the circus have been exploited for over 40 years.
