Moldova's representative presents song due to be performed at Eurovision Song Contest 2019

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/ - Singer Ana Odobescu, the winner of the national selection for Eurovision, today presented to journalists the song Stay, she is to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest, due in Tel Aviv, Israel, on 14-18 May.    

At a news conference, Ana Odobescu said that the shootings had taken place on 8 March and the video-clip was made during 24 hours on 10 March, when it was to be sent to Tel Aviv.    

”I participated in the Eurovision national selection this year as well, mostly to see what kind of contest is this. Now, I hope that the song Stay is worth being listened all over Europe. I listened to more songs by other competitors and I realized that there will be many ballads at this year issue. And my song is also slow, but it is nice. We will go to Tel Aviv in good spirits. I hope that we will reach the final,” the singer also said.    

For his part, musician Alexandru Vdovicenco, the husband of Moldova’s representative at Eurovision 2019, said that the first step had been made – the song was prepared for Tel Aviv and the financial sources are to be identified now, noting that a former Soviet country was ready to back the creation team in Israel.  

Ana Odobescu was born in Dubasari. He finished the musical school from the native town and then continued her education at the Tiraspol-based music college and the Music, Theatre and Fine Arts Academy from Chisinau. Odobescu is holder of the prize II at the Slavyanskiy Bazar Contest from Vitebsk and prize I at the Two Twin Hearts International Festival and Contest of Light Music.    

The 64th issue of the Eurovision contest will be held in Tel Aviv, Israel, and will be made up of two semifinals, organized on 14 and 16 May and the final will take place on 18 May 2019. Moldova’s representative will perform at the Eurovision Song Contest at the second semifinal, due on 16 May.    

Last year, the band DoReDos, which represented Moldova at the international stage of Eurovision Song Contest, was on the tenth position.
